7th and 8th grade volleyball

We have started our season full blast. Our 8th graders started off at Bernie in their Invitational tournament. We started off playing Bernie, we lost that game 14-25 and 10-25. We then faced the Sikeston Bulldogs, we split with Sikeston during this game with scores of 14-25 and 25-18. Our next game was against Advance Hornets. We lost both sets 14-25 and 17-25. The next day we had to play in the first round of the tournament, where we were defeated by Dexter 8-25 and 7-25.

Our next game was our first home game against the Sikeston Bulldogs on March 12th. Our 7th grade started out the night with a big win 25-10 and 25-14. This places their record 1-0. Our 8th grade then faced the Bulldogs, they played really good games but came short with the victory 23-25 and 24-26. This makes their record 1-5 for the season.

Our next match was against the Dexter Bearcats on March 12th. Our 7th grade lost in 2 sets 16-25 and 21-25, they gave Dexter a good game but fell short in the end. Their record for the season is 1-1. Our 8th grade faced Dexter on the same night and had the same fate lost in 2 sets 16-25 and 17-25. Their record for the season is 1-6.

BMS volleyball then went on to face the Bernie Mules on March 23rd. The 7th grade was in the lead the first game, but fell short of winning that game 20-25. The next set was lost 19-25. This brings their season record to 1-2. The 8th grade team played well in the beginning, but also ended up losing in two sets 17-25 and 14-25. 8th grade record for the season is 1-7.

We will play Poplar Bluff on Thursday, March 26th at Bloomfield. Our 7th grade will then travel to Poplar Bluff for a 7th grade tournament. They will face Dexter, Advance and Sikeston in Pool Play. From there the top two teams will advance to the tournament to fight for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The tournament will be played in the Junior High Gym at Poplar Bluff. Our first game starts at 9:00 am. Come out and cheer on our Lady Cats.
